Ubisoft Film & Television, OTTera, Animaj make FAST deal for Rabbids

Children’s animated series Rabbids Invasion

The film and TV arm of video game giant Ubisoft has teamed with digital content distribution company OTTera and kids’ company Animaj to bring the Rabbids IP to free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels in Europe.

Created by Ubisoft and distributed by Animaj to 13 countries across Europe through Samsung TV Plus, the Rabbids (Lapins Crétins) FAST channel is powered and delivered by LA-based OTTera.

Available in countries including the UK, France and Spain, it will feature content from Ubisoft Film & Television’s Rabbids Invasion animated series, which first launched in 2013 on France Télévisions before being sold to Netflix and Nickelodeon in markets worldwide.

“Partnering with Samsung TV Plus and OTTera is a tremendous opportunity to expand the reach of Rabbids and introduce their wacky characters to new fans,” said Gregory Dray, co-founder of Animaj and a former YouTube Kids exec.

“This collaboration strengthens the bond between the series and its fanbase while offering an exclusive channel dedicated to the hilarious Rabbids.”

It comes after Paris-based Animaj recently acquired the hit animated preschool property Pocoyo from Spanish production company Zinkia.
